The Commission for the Surveillance of the Financial Sector is seeking an expert in finance to join its team as a public employee under a permanent contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor legal and regulatory requirements, working closely with other departments and institutions.
* Participate in internal working groups and contribute to the development of new ideas.
* Evaluate and improve the IT application of the Luxembourg Deposit Guarantee Fund based on real-life compensation cases.
* Calculate regular contributions and obtain necessary data from prudential supervision departments and member institutions.
* Categorize administrative contributions, including estimated future costs for the fund.
* Follow up questions raised by member institutions and coordinate with the IT department for necessary developments.
* Participate in on-site inspections and monitor remediation measures.
* Plan, execute, and report regular stress tests.
* Contribute to international working groups, such as the European Forum of Deposit Insurers and the European Banking Authority.
* Update the Frequently Asked Questions section based on practical questions raised by market players.
Requirements
* A university degree in economics or finance (Bac +4/+5).
* A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in the financial sector.
* A strong interest in financial risk management, quantitative, statistical, or econometric approaches, and dedicated issues related to depositor and investor protection.
* Excellent proficiency in written and spoken French and very good proficiency in written and spoken English.
* Computer programming skills, VBA, and SQL.
* Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Excellent writing, analytical, synthesis, and communication skills.
* Very good organizational skills, rigour, and proactivity, and the ability to think critically.
* A dynamic and motivated attitude to learn and interact in a constantly changing legal environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be hired as a public employee under a permanent contract, with the possibility of being asked to apply for admission to the status of civil servant if they meet the required conditions.
