About The Team
You will join a highly skilled R&D team developing high‑frequency MMICs for Keysight’s industry‑leading electronic measurement instruments. The team works at the forefront of microwave, millimeter‑wave, and sub‑THz technologies, collaborating closely with subsystem and system teams in Germany and across Keysight’s global R&D network. The environment combines deep technical expertise with strong cross‑site collaboration, enabling engineers to translate advanced semiconductor technologies into best‑in‑class instrumentation performance.
About The Role
As an MMIC Design Engineer, you will be part of the Keysight Technology Organization, contributing to the design of next‑generation high‑frequency ICs that power cutting‑edge measurement solutions. In this role, you will take ownership of MMIC designs from concept and simulation through layout, fabrication, and measurement validation, working with both internal semiconductor technologies and external foundries. Your work will directly impact Keysight’s ability to enable next‑generation wireless, radar, and high‑speed applications.
Responsibilities
Design, simulate, and validate mmWave and sub‑THz MMICs (typically 30 GHz up to 100+ GHz).
Translate system‑level and subsystem requirements into robust MMIC architectures.
Perform schematic design, layout, EM simulation, and verification using industry‑standard tools.
Support wafer‑level and on‑bench measurements, including characterization and performance analysis.
Collaborate closely with system, packaging, and test teams across global R&D sites.
Document designs, measurement results, and design trade‑offs clearly and professionally.
Contribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies and best practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a focus on RF/mmWave IC design.
3+ years of industrial experience in MMIC design at 30 GHz and above.
Proven hands‑on experience across the full MMIC flow: design, layout, verification, and measurement.
Strong expertise in at least one high‑frequency circuit type (e.g. LNAs, PAs, mixers, frequency multipliers).
Practical experience with RF/mmWave design tools, such as ADS, Momentum, EMPro, SystemVue, or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with device modeling, thermal considerations, or IC packaging.
Exposure to wafer probing, calibration techniques, or test automation.
Knowledge of thin‑film or PCB design for high‑frequency applications.
Strong communication and documentation skills in a collaborative, international environment.
A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to work in cross‑functional project teams.
Keysight is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
