Your role

Reporting to the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO), the Global Head of Digital Solutions will drive the development of a world-class, digitally enabled ecosystem that supports Symrise’s ambitious goals in Sales & Marketing. This role is pivotal in aligning with our dynamic business vision, building the right digital infrastructure to enable key business activities, and supporting the transition to a product-based operating model.

As a trusted advisor to the CDIO and executive stakeholders, you will help shape strategic decisions by providing actionable insights that effectively align technology, data, and AI priorities with business needs. Leading a team of product owners, you will oversee high-stakes products within Sales & Marketing, managing cross-functional teams and orchestrating collaboration to resolve complex trade-offs between business units, Group IT, and external partners, all aimed at delivering measurable outcomes.

In your role as the primary liaison between Sales & Marketing stakeholders and Group IT, you will ensure clear communication, expectation setting, and priority alignment to guide technology initiatives. Drawing on deep expertise in the fragrance and flavor industry, you will address regulatory, operational, process, and innovation challenges. This includes close collaboration with functional business leaders across Fine Fragrance, Consumer Fragrance, Cosmetic Ingredients, Food & Beverage, and Petfood to ensure IT solutions meet business needs and sales timelines.

Key responsibilities

* Act as strategic partner to Sales & Marketing leaders, steering digital transformation and growth initiatives
* Lead digital product strategy, development, and execution for key areas including consumer insights, CRM, value-based pricing, and marketing planning
* Sponsor and steer digital products, such as Consumer research and insights, marketing planning & resource management, and reporting, value-based pricing, or E2E customer relationship management
* Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products from ideation to adoption and continuous improvement while driving system simplification
* Build and lead high-performing cross-functional product teams (including business and IT functions), embedding Agile practices and fostering innovation and accountability
* Serve as primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring alignment of priorities, expectations, and timelines
* Drive adoption through training, feedback loops, and regional champions; monitor product performance using data-driven KPIs
* Build digital and data literacy across teams, promote a culture of experimentation and continuous learning
* Advise CDIO and executive leaders on strategic technology decisions; translate complex digital initiatives into actionable insights


About you

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification in Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred
* Minimum 10 years of experience designing and delivering digital strategies and solutions within Sales & Marketing, including substantial time in senior leadership roles
* Strong record of leading complex digital transformations, aligning technology investments with business strategy, and managing large-scale organizational change
* Proven success in product-based organizations, with a deep understanding of product lifecycle management and outcomes-driven delivery
* Extensive leadership experience managing cross-functional teams across business and IT functions in a global context
* Demonstrated expertise in building scalable, modern technology ecosystems using Agile methodologies
* Industry experience in the fragrance and flavor sector or closely related fields, with a solid grasp of regulatory frameworks and operational dynamics
* Ability to leverage technology, data, and AI to address industry-specific challenges, particularly in areas such as Customer Relationship Management
* Strategic thinker with strong commercial and operational acumen
* Exceptional communication and influence skills with the ability to operate at senior executive levels
* Skilled in analytical problem-solving and confident, decisive leadership
* Confident leader with strong problem-solving capabilities and a successful track record in global change management
* Fluency in English required; additional language skills are advantageous
