Grob Aircraft has been designing and building aircraft in Bavaria for decades, from trainers and composite airframes to some of the most advanced aeronautical structures in the world. Engineering excellence and precision manufacturing are what we do.
We are designing, building, and testing, right now, right here.
We are looking for a Flight Mechanics Engineer to develop and validate aircraft models, perform handling-qualities work, and support flight control development across simulation and test. This role suits engineers with a strong flight mechanics foundation, whether your background is in civil certification, military flight test, simulation development, or flight control support. What matters is that you understand how an aircraft behaves and can model, analyse and improve it.
Develop, implement and maintain high-fidelity 6-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) simulation models for fixed-wing aircraft.
Create and validate aerodynamic models (database generation/processing) from CFD, wind tunnel and flight test data.
Support fly-by-wire/flight-control development: provide vehicle models and requirements input, design verification (simulations and piloted evaluations).
Prepare and deliver technical artefacts for certification and verification: simulation reports, requirement traceability, test cases, qualification evidence, and support for flight tests.
MSc (or equivalent) in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering.
~Experience building and validating aircraft simulation models and processing aerodynamic data.
~ Experience supporting Fly-By-Wire (FBW) or flight-control system development.
~ Strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB/Simulink.
~ Excellent English communication and presentation skills for engaging with technical teams and certification authorities.
~ 40-hour work week, flexitime, 30 vacation days.
~ Company pension plan, accident insurance, disability insurance subsidy.
~ Subsidised lunch, EGYM Wellpass, corporate benefits platform.
