About the project
EDENT1FI is an EU-wide consortium of leading partners in the field of T1D, that aims to transform the unmet need in T1D care through systematic implementation of a combined immune/metabolic screening platform and refinement validated biomarkers for detection and staging of T1D risk. The expected impacts and outcomes of the project are:
Early diagnosis of pre-clinical T1D, with guidance for management, resulting in reduced disease severity at diagnosis, as well as develop and implement a roadmap for preventive and disease modifying therapies for T1D.
Furthermore, to provide an increased availability of validated early disease progression biomarkers and novel modeling tools focused on personalized risk monitoring and health interventions for end-users. By being a central part of this initiative, you will have the opportunity to expand your network across both the industrial and public partners involved in this collaboration.
The position
The position is of two years’ duration starting preferably June/July 2024 and mainly based at the Institute of Diabetes Research at Helmholtz Munich, German Research Center for Environmental Health with Prof. Dr. Anette-Gabriele Ziegler.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Lead in development and refinement of islet autoantibody technology
* Main contact to overlook and address all laboratory-, logistical- and technical-demands for all partners of the European islet autoantibody screening EDENT1FI
* Identify and solve all process- and operational priorities to warrant effective running of the screening at all partner sites and laboratories
* As integral part of the EDENT1FI coordinating center, you serve as key laboratory manager/coordinator
* Liaison between the Principal Investigators, their lab-technicians and the EDENT1FI partners
Qualifications
You have a strong interest and expertise in assay technology. Deep understanding of all work- and process flows in a multinational public health screening. Excellent communication (verbal and written) in German and English. On a personal level, you have strong collaborative and communication skills. You are well-organized, capable of working independently and with a strong personal drive and dedication.
* You hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline such as medicine, human physiology, biomedicine etc.
* Professional experience in technology development and laboratory management in an international environment.
* Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
* Scientific curiosity and attention to details.
* Literate with relevant laboratory management software and lab-solution tools, incl. high throughput solutions.
Desirable qualifications:
* Previous experience with antibody technology (ELISA, LIPS, RBA, ESL, other).
* Professional experience in project management.
