We want an earth that is worth living on. Our applied research in Circular Economy, Carbon Management, Green Hydrogen and Local Energy Systems makes concrete contributions to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. As an institute of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, we show how to not only master challenges, but grow with them. We push boundaries, think ahead and shape the future with applied research. Diverse perspectives and approaches strengthen creativity and innovation in our scientific work.
Would you like to help us shape a sustainable world? We are looking for reinforcement!
A meaningful, robust, and transportable exhibition exhibit with a clear reference to electrolysis technology is to be designed, manufactured, and iteratively optimized for the presentation of current research and development work in the Electrosynthesis Department. The aim is to clearly communicate key functional principles; interactive elements (e.g., visualization, control) may be integrated for this purpose. The work will be carried out in close coordination with the scientific teams in the department.
Be part of change
* Concept and design of a trade fair exhibit with a clear storyline relating to electrolysis technology
* Construction and prototyping, including selection of suitable materials and production-oriented implementation
* Implementation of simple interactive features
* Testing, robustness and transport optimization
* Documentation (assembly instructions, safety/operating instructions if necessary)
What you contribute
* Studies (ideally technical/scientific), e.g., in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, process engineering, chemical engineering, physics, chemistry, or similar
* Interest/basic knowledge of electrochemistry/energy technology
* Previous knowledge of science communication/exhibit design
* Basic knowledge of programming/electronics (e.g., Arduino/Raspberry Pi, Python, simple GUIs) would be desirable
* Hands-on mentality and enjoyment of practical work (prototype construction, tinkering, iterative improvement)
* Structured approach to work, ability to work in a team and excellent communication skills (for “explaining & simplifying” complex content)
* Good English skills
