A vacancy for a
Mission Systems Engineer (d/m/f)
has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join the Mission System Concepts team "TADIXF6".
We are looking for a creative person who wants to work on system engineering as well as on software-related tasks with respect to mission systems for military aircraft. You will have the chance to contribute to various projects across a wide field of aerospace applications and have the chance to work with emerging technologies, shaping the future of airborne platforms.

Your tasks and responsibilities
* Define and maintain the overall architecture of mission systems including the design of the codebase.
* Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code by following software development best practices.
* Communicate with stakeholders to capture, analyse, define, and manage requirements and specifications.
* Identify and address technical risks and issues; implement mitigation strategies as needed.
* Create and maintain technical documentation including requirements, specifications, plans, reports, diagrams and presentations.
* Design intuitive and user-friendly GUIs.
* Actively support the continuous improvement of our projects, products and processes.
Desired skills and qualifications
* Master's degree or higher in computer science, aerospace engineering or a related technical field
* 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
* Experience in identifying, writing, and tracking requirements
* Experience in software development with modern programming languages and tools
* Experience with modern principles such as version control, containerization, and agile development methods
* Optional but desirable: Knowledge in flight control systems, flight dynamics, (sat)comms, sensors,sensor fusion, radar, and simulation
* Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Fluency in technical and business English and German, both written and spoken, is required to be able to work in a multinational environment.
