Junior Legal Counsel
Location: Frankfurt
Our client is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to support its legal team. This role focuses on contract law, data protection, employment law, and general civil law. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal departments, including research and administration, as well as liaise with external legal counsel and public authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, particularly related to research collaborations and technology transfer
* Provide legal guidance on projects involving scientific partnerships and third-party funding
* Address employment law matters, especially concerning global mobility and academic exchange or funding programs
* Support the enhancement of the compliance management system
* Advise on data protection issues (in accordance with GDPR), working closely with the external data protection officer
* Assist the procurement team on matters of contract and public procurement law
Your Profile:
* Completed legal education (First and Second State Examinations) or an equivalent qualification
* Solid knowledge of contract law, data protection, employment law, and compliance
* Preferably, initial experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or research organisation
* Keen interest in legal issues at the intersection of science and law
* Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities
* Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
