Overview
We are building a KI‑Kernabteilung within the Exzellenzcluster BioSysteM. The position is a 4‑year fixed‑term assignment, extendable to 31.12.2032.
Responsibilities
* Develop and lead the KI‑Kernkomponente as a central service that supports the efficient use of AI tools across the cluster.
* Deliver mandatory KI introductory courses for new cluster researchers in collaboration with the Munich Data Science Institute.
* Conduct advanced domain‑specific KI training for BioSysteM researchers.
* Consult with research groups to assess needs and opportunities for KI applications.
* Collaborate with domain scientists to perform advanced KI analyses.
* Support researchers in programming tasks, scientific software development, and creation of application programming interfaces.
* Oversee data harmonization across the cluster, coordinating with data stewards and building the MRSPP.
* Network researchers working on similar problems and involve external KI experts via the KI advisory board and MDSI.
Qualifications
* PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
* Strong background in applied data science and machine learning.
* Experience in scientific software engineering and data analysis of omics and/or imaging data.
* Leadership experience in interdisciplinary projects and effective communication skills.
