About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join a central, international function, working within a dedicated data protection team. This role offers a high level of responsibility, combining advisory work, governance development, and project ownership in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders while independently driving data protection initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Advise business units and central functions on the design and implementation of data protection-compliant processes. Further develop and enhance the data protection management system across the organisation. Draft and implement policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and practical guidance to strengthen governance structures. Conduct awareness initiatives, communication campaigns, and assess the effectiveness of existing processes. Collaborate across international and interdisciplinary teams while supporting data protection coordinators within different business areas. Prepare legal assessments, perform risk and interest balancing, and contribute to pragmatic, business-oriented solutions. Deliver training sessions and internal workshops to relevant stakeholders.
Your Profile
Law degree with strong understanding of IT systems and business processes. Approximately over 3 years of professional experience in data protection, ideally within an international organisation. Solid expertise in data protection frameworks alongside strong technical awareness. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and effectively. Fluent German and English required, along with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
