Your role:
We are seeking a Senior Executive Communications Manager in the Executive Positioning team in Group Communications. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the voices and positioning of our Executive Board members while contributing to our company-wide strategic messaging framework. In partnership with business and functional colleagues, you will develop strategic and creative communications assets to meet our Executive positioning needs while building enterprise messaging that supports brand campaigns and content marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a bilingual (German/English) master storyteller with a track record of working directly with C‑suite leaders, shaping narratives in complex, science- and technology-driven contexts, and translating strategy into compelling multi-channel content.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute comprehensive communications materials for the CEO and sometimes the CFO and other executives, including keynote speeches, talking points and briefings for internal and external engagement, video scripts, and occasionally social media content.
* Capture and refine each executive's authentic voice; develop reusable narratives, story banks, and proof points; maintain updated speaker bios and positioning briefs.
* Develop op-eds, bylines for the regional media, LinkedIn articles, long-form posts, and executive emails for the internal audience.
* Develop key message frameworks and storytelling concepts that resonate with internal and external audiences
* Brief executives on important speaking engagements; provide coaching on delivery, consultation on cadence and visual storytelling; align content with event formats and audiences; track outcomes and integrate feedback
* Collaborate effectively within a team of global communications experts, while partnering with key stakeholders to ensure message consistency and amplification across channels
Who you are:
* University graduate degree or above in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications Linguistics or related field
* 10+ years of experience in communication function within an international organization, communications agency, or communications consultancy
* Excellence in speechwriting and executive communications including social media content creation
* Demonstrated ability to distill complex science/technology, healthcare topics into clear, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences.
* Proven experience developing strategic messaging frameworks and campaign narratives that scale across multiple channels
* Senior communicator with excellent business partnering and stakeholder management abilities, with strong networking skills and proven experience working with Board Members and C-suite executives
* Expert research skills; impeccable attention to detail and fact checking.
* Curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring AI applications for communications, with a forward-thinking approach to integrating new technologies into workflows.
* Bi-lingual proficiency: Native level German writing and editing is a must; (near) native in English preferred - Portfolio required in both languages.
* Nice to have:
* Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or technology sectors
* Speech coaching or rhetoric training; visual storytelling and narrative design experience.
* Familiarity with multimedia content production (video, podcast) or collaboration with creative teams.
Application requirements
* CV and brief cover letter. While we are looking for experience in using AI to enhance communications materials, we would also like to evaluate your personal writing style. Therefore, the cover letter should be an original text written without the support of AI.
* Portfolio with 2-4 samples: at least two German and two English (speeches/remarks, op-eds/bylines, executive emails, or long-form posts). Please mention if the text used AI enhancements.
* Optional: 1–2 samples of message architectures/narratives you've authored.
Location: Darmstadt, Germany (hybrid working possible, min. 3 Days in-person preferred)
