**Yard Area Manager Role**
In this position, you will oversee yard operations in harmony with the Dock, Receive and Ship teams to ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) processing and mitigate Customer Experience impact risks.
* Collaborate with Site leadership to enhance On-time Performance of trucks entering and exiting yards, Safety metrics and Customer Experience performance.
* Cultivate effective communication between various stakeholders to streamline the flow of trucks within the yard, ensuring timely arrival and departure of trucks.
* Accountable for reporting yard performance to local site leadership, identifying root causes for structural issues and driving resolution with multiple stakeholders.
* Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives, implementing Lean tools and methodologies.
* Operate within dynamic time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and analyzing activities performed.
A typical day requires:
* A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or 2 years' experience in a similar field.
* Proficiency in MS Office, specifically intermediate Excel skills; basic proficiency in SQL or Access.
* Experience working with performance metrics, making data-driven decisions and leading process improvements.
* Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Bonus requirements:
* Candidates must be adaptable to work varied hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
* Fluency in English is required, with a preference for one additional language: French, Polish, German, Italian or Spanish.
Key qualifications include:
* A Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Science or Engineering subjects.
* Work experience in operations, supply chain, logistics or e-commerce is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean analytical techniques is beneficial.
* Understanding of supply chain management and transportation concepts: forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics, delivery performance, carrier negotiation, inventory management and S&OP.
