Your Role
The Microsurgery (MCS) Strategic Business Unit at Carl Zeiss Meditec AG is searching for a Business Development Manager (f/m/x). Your role will initially cover all three Business Sectors of MCS: Neuro- and Spinesurgery, ENT and Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, and Dentistry.
Over time you will increasingly focus on one Business Sector and combine functional expertise with detailed knowledge about the specific customer group, the performed surgical procedures, and the market.
As Business developer (f/m/x) your task is to help achieve our growth plans by
1. Contributing to the development and execution of strategy
2. Developing the external opportunity funnel: Identify, evaluate, and execute internal and external growth opportunities via strategic partnerships, investments, M&A
3. Execute and manage strategic projects
4. Build up deep knowledge of the customer and the markets
Your Profile
5. A degree with excellent grades in natural sciences, medicine, healthcare, engineering, or economics. PhD or MBA a plus
6. Practical experience in strategy development, business development, and project management. Project experience in managing complex strategic projects, M&A, or strategic partnership development
7. Professional experience at one of the leading management consultancies, in business development, or in corporate strategy a plus
8. Experience within the medical technology industry a plus
9. Profound experience in market and competition analysis, company evaluation, and business case development. Outstanding analytical competence and strategic thinking
10. Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse and interdisciplinary teams
11. Ready to work in the medical device industry, with medical doctors and surgeons (inside and outside the operating room)
12. Fluent English skills, German a plus
