<p><strong>Head of Project Development - PV & BESS - Berlin, Germany (hybrid)</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Are you ready to lead a team to continue the growth of a high-impact renewable energy business?</p><p><br></p><p>We’re seeking an entrepreneurial Head of Development to take charge of day-to-day operations and drive project development across North & Eastern Germany.</p><p><br></p><p>It is important to note, you do not need direct team leading experience for this role.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>The Company</u></strong></p><p>An established, fast-growing renewable energy developer with a strong foothold in Germany’s solar and storage market. Operating with a lean, highly professional team, they focus on quality, transparency, and long-term value creation.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>The Role</u></strong></p><p>As<strong> Head of</strong> <strong>Project Development</strong>, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects across Germany, with a particular emphasis on northern and eastern regions.</p><ul><li>Lead and mentor a development team (Project Developers + GIS expertise).</li><li>Take a hands-on role in identifying, assessing, and progressing new Solar PV and BESS sites.</li><li>Manage the full permitting cycle from early land acquisition through to “construction-ready” status.</li><li>Coordinate with municipal bodies, planning authorities, grid operators, and other regional stakeholders.</li><li>Oversee project financials including budgets, forecasts, invoicing, and internal reporting processes.</li><li>Ensure timely completion of all required permits, documentation, and regulatory submissions.</li><li>Support ongoing improvement of internal development procedures and quality standards.</li><li>Represent the business externally at industry events and meetings.</li><li>Lead key negotiations, contribute to financing activities, and support investor-facing project requirements.</li><li>Build and maintain trusted relationships with municipalities, landowners, and local partners.</li><li>Guarantee compliance with regulatory, environmental, and technical standards across all projects.</li><li>Report directly to board-level leadership.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>The Person</u></strong></p><ul><li>A degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Renewable Energy or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in renewable energy project development (Solar PV strongly preferred).</li><li>Experience guiding or mentoring colleagues; formal line management is advantageous but not essential.</li><li>Willingness to work onsite across Northern Regions when needed.</li><li>Strong capability in project budgeting, forecasting, and structured reporting.</li><li>Good knowledge of permitting processes and experience working closely with municipalities and regional authorities.</li><li>Full professional fluency in German and English.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>If you have the skills to match, please apply today, or get in tough <strong>jake.rogerson@hunterphilips.com</strong></p>
