The Neuroinformatics research group (Prof. Dr. Gordon Pipa) of the
Institute of Cognitive Science
invites applications for a
**Research Assistant (m/f/d)
(Salary level E 13 TV-L, 50 %)**
to be filled as soon as possible for a period of 3 years.
The Neuroinformatics group research topics are centered on how cognitive functions are implemented in the brain. This includes the use of models or simulations of complex or neuro-inspired artificial systems, the development of machine learning approaches and analysis of complex (neuronal) dyna mical systems. The core goal is to unravel the information processing principles of neuro-inspired information processing.
Description Of Responsibilities
* Participation in the research activities of the Neuroinformatics group
* Teaching Cognitive Science courses at the B.Sc. and M.Sc. level (2 hours/week)
* Provides the opportunity to work towards a PhD
Required Qualifications
* An excellent academic degree in a relevant field
* Excellent knowledge of machine learning
* A good command of the English language
Additional Qualifications
Experience or a strong interest is highly encouraged in the following areas:
* Computational neuroscience and machine learning
* Complex dynamical systems and its study concepts (e.g. bifurcation and stability analysis), e.g. spiking neuronal networks
