Research Professor in Bioinformatics
We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a Research Professor position in Bioinformatics. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research at the highest scientific level, setting up and developing their own research group, leading impactful interdisciplinary research, supervising graduate students, securing external funding, fostering collaborations, and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct research at the highest scientific level in the field of bioinformatics or related areas.
* Develop and lead a research group in bioinformatics, focusing on cutting-edge projects and collaborating with experimental, computational, and clinical research groups.
* Supervise and mentor graduate students and early-career researchers, providing guidance and support throughout their academic journey.
* Secure external research funding through competitive grants and proposals, showcasing the team's expertise and impact.
* Foster collaborations within and outside the university, establishing partnerships that drive innovation and growth.
* Design and deliver engaging courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, incorporating real-world examples and practical applications.
* Engage with industry, government, and the broader scientific community, promoting the work of the research group and staying abreast of emerging trends and developments.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
