About your role:
* Performing precision spectroscopy on highly charged ions (HCI)
* In-EBIT spectroscopy of HCI with a focus on ions with high sensitivity to possible time dependence of the fine structure constant
* Measure candidate ions such as californium
* Analyse the data and contribute to publication of the results

About you:
* PhD in experimental physics or equivalent qualification
* Very good command of English is required and knowledge of German is of advantage
* Excellent knowledge of spectroscopy and laser desorption
* Strong physical background on HCI and related topics
* Very good organizational and communication skills, strong motivation and ability to work in teams
