We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied working student occupation in the area of Security Engineering for Linux-based ECUs. We are seeking an enthusiastic working student to assist in developing secure platforms for our customers. As part of your work, you will write code for security-critical components, harden the configuration of our Linux ECUs and support other developers to develop secure solutions.
As a working student, you will have the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting, develop essential skills, and enhance your professional experience.
What awaits you?
1. Design and implement automated security system tests in our Python-based integration testing framework.
2. Contribute to our yocto-based integration toolchain.
3. Improve the system configuration from a security point of view by providing reviews and improvement suggestions.
4. Help other developers to understand basic and advanced security concepts such as POSIX permissions, seccomp filters or SELinux.
5. Write and debug C++ library and service code for our ARM-based ECUs.
What should you bring along?
6. Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields of study.
7. Experience working with Linux (on the terminal).
8. Basic understanding of Linux security features.
9. Experience with Python.
10. Experience with C++ and/or Rust is helpful but not mandatory.
11. An understanding of distro building and yocto is appreciated but not expected.
12. Good English skills are required.
