We currently have around 280 employees of international origin working and researching here. The HIPS is the first publicly funded, non-university research institution in Germany that is explicitly dedicated to pharmaceutical research. Closely linked to Saarland University, the institute cooperates with international and national research institutions and industrial companies. In your role as a computer scientist at the Saarbrücken site, you will work at the interface between the IT infrastructure, bioinformatics and the scientific laboratory and measurement systems of the working groups, integrated into the structures of the HZI's computer center. As the contact person for the integration of new and existing equipment into our state-of-the-art infrastructure, you will work independently and in constant coordination with our scientific working groups. As an IT employee, you will also support the onboarding of new employees at the Saarbrücken site. Your area of responsibility: You are the contact person for the integration of scientific equipment into the IT infrastructure You will support our advanced laboratory and measurement systems from an IT perspective (updates / migration / backup / data management) in close coordination with the scientific users You will be actively involved in the further development of our continuously growing IT platform You will support our scientific groups in the design of databases and data collections. You will provide assistance in the processing of measurement data and support cooperation with the bioinformatics working groups You will communicate with users, manufacturers, service providers and partners of the institute to ensure an up-to-date and secure software installation, smooth scientific operations and the channeling of information You will contribute to the creation of documentation, maintain our internal wiki pages and a scientific software catalog You will work on current, often interdisciplinary, IT projects and take on subtasks independently You support the administration of the basic infrastructure and client deployment Your qualification profile: Successfully completed technical university degree in computer science, bioinformatics or a STEM degree program with a high affinity for IT.
