European HR Manager
A fast-growing, global consumer technology company in the mobility and active lifestyle sector is expanding its footprint in Europe. As part of this strategic growth, a new entity is being established in Munich, Germany. We are seeking a senior HR leader to build and manage the German organisation while partnering closely with international leadership teams across multiple regions.
Role Overview
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for setting up and scaling the German entity from the ground up. You will serve as the senior local leader for HR and operational matters, acting as a strategic partner to global executives while ensuring strong compliance, culture, and operational excellence in Germany.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the establishment of the German entity, including GmbH formation, registration, and regulatory compliance.
* Design and implement HR processes and policies aligned with German labor law.
* Oversee employment contracts, payroll, benefits administration, and pension programs.
* Partner with international finance leadership on budgeting, vendor agreements, and financial reporting.
* Ensure alignment with global headquarters on strategy, culture, and organizational standards.
* Recruit, develop, and scale a high-performing local team across engineering, operations, and support functions.
* Lead office and facility setup, including leasing, vendors, and workplace safety.
* Serve as the local representative of senior executive leadership and safeguard company interests in Germany.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Demonstrated HR and Operations leadership experience within Germany.
* Proven success in entity setup, market entry, or scaling within a multinational or high-growth company.
* Deep knowledge of German labor law, regulatory compliance, and HR systems (DATEV experience is a plus).
* Experience supporting office, warehouse, or light manufacturing environments.
* Fluency in German and English; Mandarin is a plus but not required.
* 7–10+ years of progressive HR and operations experience, including at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
