We are now looking for a
Software Development Engineer C++ (m/f/d)
We are now looking for a Software Development Engineer with strong skills in C++ to join the R&D team at RT Navigation in Hamburg. Our teams work on ECDIS, Radar, and Planning software for the maritime industry, specifically focusing on desktop applications. We support a hybrid work model.
What you will be doing?
Your work includes the development of the Navigation software, which is used both onboard the vessels and as a part of the navigation training center. You will satisfy upcoming certification requirements and adopt the software to the new customer’s needs.
As a Software Development Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain maritime navigation software using C++
2. Work with a significant amount of legacy code
3. Creating unit tests
4. Improving the software components design
5. Ensure high code quality, participate in the Code Review
6. Participate in the Agile activities
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
7. Great skills in improving products with a lot of legacy code
8. Excellent knowledge of the C++ programming language
9. Strong analytical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
10. Technical and communication English
11. Good communication skills
Will be a plus:
12. Experience with maritime navigation will be an advantage
13. Knowledge of Qt
14. Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
15. Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices
16. Knowledge of OpenGL
