Kurita Group is currently looking for the Head of Accounting (f/m/d) in Mannheim (hybrid). This role is reporting to the Finance Director at Kurita Europe and will lead a team of up to eight finance professionals.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and develop the accounting team of six colleagues based in two locations in Germany.
* Work closely with two financial controllers overseeing financial operations in Germany and Austria.
* Manage and oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB.
* Set team priorities and ensure deadlines are met.
* Maintain strong financial controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous process improvement.
Job requirements
* University degree in Finance, Accounting or related.
* 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting in Germany.
* At least 2 years of people management experience.
* Excellent knowledge of the HGB.
* Experience with corporate income tax and indirect taxes (e.g. VAT) compliance/filings, and handling tax audits.
* Accounting experience in a company with cross-border transactions within the EU.
* Excellent German and proficient English language skills.
* Highly developed leadership skills.
* Willingness to work in Kurita’s Mannheim office with flexible hybrid arrangements.
