The business has built a strong reputation within cancer diagnostics, supporting pathologists with high-quality products and solutions, underpinned by a strong focus on innovation and scientific excellence.
A key opportunity has arisen to appoint a
Head of Research & Development (ISH), taking full ownership of the ISH function. This role is centred around leadership managing and developing an interdisciplinary R&D team, with direct reports, and playing an active role in strengthening team capability, performance, and structure.
Alongside team leadership, the role will oversee the development and advancement of ISH technologies (including FISH and CISH), driving assay development, validation, and continuous improvement across the function. The successful individual will work closely with the team on a day-to-day basis, supporting development, improving processes, and ensuring delivery against both scientific and commercial objectives.
This is a highly visible position within the organisation, working cross-functionally with Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and Commercial teams, while also shaping the longer-term R&D and product strategy.
We are seeking a proven leader with strong experience in ISH technologies and a track record of managing and developing R&D teams within a diagnostics environment. This role would suit someone who is both strategic and hands-on, and motivated by building high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.
Relevant backgrounds may include in-vitro diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, or tissue diagnostics, particularly within organisations focused on ISH, FISH, or related technologies.
