We are currently looking for a (Senior) Patent-/Trademark-/Design- Attorney/Patent Counsel to support provision of strategic and operational Patent-, Trademark and Design Law services to build up and maintain a strong portfolio of property rights supporting the Group’s business and strategy and to contribute to the risk mitigation with regard to competitor’s property rights.

o Continuous strategic analysis of dormakaba’s and competitor’s patent activities globally
o Proactive consultancy of product development and research departments with regard to patent and design protection & consultancy of the commercial and marketing organization with regard to trademark protection
o Drafting, prosecuting and litigating of utility patents and design patents
o Conducting freedom-to-operate reports and elaborating work-around solutions to ensure freedom-to-operate
o Handling trademark-related topics like trademark collisions and infringements
o Handling opposition proceedings before the German Patent- and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office
o Lead patent committee(s) ensuring the internal flow of information and decision-making process in cooperation with the responsible product managers and developers
An experience that matters: your skills

o Certification as a German Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney (preferred)
o A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
o Business Fluency in both German and English language
o Strong analytical skills
o Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in team
