Energy controlling manager (m/w/d)

* About this opportunity

Energy Controlling Manager (site-based) will ensure focus and compliance for all aspects and types of energy isolation required for the data center construction project.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

o Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
o Delivering high quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
o Providing Energy Isolation (EI) management and assuring and assisting in the coordination of EI activities on construction project.
o Ensuring and actively assisting in the effective coordination and planning of EI activities related to construction and commissioning activities.
o Implementing learning, providing consistency, and driving rigor into Customer´s energy isolation program.
o Overseeing and assuring that all relevant parties comply with the overall EI program management on a datacenter construction campus.
o Helping to ensure the vendors’ and contractors’ EI program meets or exceeds safety policy requirements.
o Establishing and managing an EI assurance process and work with site teams to close any gaps identified in assurance audits.
o Organising high risk activity planning meetings, including but not limited to those associated with EI.
o Ensuring approval process for proposed EI procedures is in place.
o Identifying EI potential impact on data center core operations.
o Serving as an independent authority for stopping all unsafe work practices regarding EI.
o Preparing the EI program plan at the commencement of EI activities with updates throughout the project.
o Preparing EI assurance documentation as needed, with audits and findings to include inspections, issues, deficiencies, and best practices within the EI program.
o Prepare monthly EI reports to highlight the activities and general status of the EI program
o Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

* Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

o Experience in MV and LV switching and Data Centres construction and commissioning standards and practices.
o Proven ability to interact with teams and implement improvements.
o Ability to audit site practices against written standards as part of assurance role.
o Strong ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies
o Familiar with multiple sources of energy in Data Centers, with emphasis placed on electrical.
o Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers.
o Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
o Proficiency in English. German is a plus.
o Eligible to work in Germany.

Qualifications

o Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equal approved qualifications.
