JD Industrial serves thousands of large global industrial customers with end-to-end supply chain services. We are deeply expanding our footprint in the German industrial market. As a Category Manager based in Düsseldorf, you will take charge of category planning and product selection, closely engage with key German industrial clients, deliver customized product solutions and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop category strategy and product assortment planning for German market covering MRO, electrical components, industrial tools, PPE and other core industrial categories, based on market trends, key customer demands and competitor analysis.
2. Serve and directly engage with major German industrial customers (automotive, manufacturing, chemical and other industries); explore procurement needs and provide tailored product portfolio solutions.
3. Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to onboard local products, responsible for product pricing, listing, information maintenance and compliance governance; monitor sales performance and customer feedback to optimize category structure and competitiveness.
4. Track local market dynamics, competitor category layout and pricing strategy; deliver regular market analysis reports and adjust assortment & pricing strategy accordingly.
5. Collaborate closely with local purchasing, sales and operation teams to align category planning and customer requirements; liaise with China product and supply chain teams to ensure localized adaptation and stable supply.
6. Manage full product lifecycle including new product introduction, slow-moving product clearance and category iteration; support key account sales target achievement via category optimization and promotion planning.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or related fields is preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years of industrial MRO category management or key account sales experience in Germany/Europe with deep understanding of local industrial market and customer procurement mechanism.
3. Solid experience in industrial category planning, assortment optimization and product pool operation; strong capability in demand mining and customized solution design for enterprise clients.
4. Fluent in German (C1 preferred), proficient in English as working language; Mandarin speaker is a plus.
5. Familiar with German industrial customer procurement process and decision-making structure; excellent client communication, cross-cultural collaboration and project execution skills; data-driven and result-oriented.
