It all started when Golden Harper started cutting up and reconfiguring existing running shoes in hopes of designing something better. Along with co-founders, Brian Beckstead, Jeremy Howlett and Quirl Jacob Hansen, he came up with the idea for a “Zero Drop” shoe, meaning that the goal was to create shoes that lacked a height differential between the heel and toe area. When no companies expressed interest in the design, the foursome partnered with Pulse Labs (an engineering firm at Brigham Young University), contracted manufacturers in Asia and launched Altra Footwear on their own. This role combines product expertise, retail training, event support, and community engagement to strengthen Altra's presence in the region. Deliver engaging product training sessions to retail staff, both in-store and outdoors.
• Act as the regional product expert and key contact between Altra, sales reps, and retail accounts, sharing valuable field insights.
• Build strong relationships with retail partners to motivate and support store teams.
• Ensure high-quality in-store brand presentation through effective merchandising and POS execution.
• Lead community engagement efforts and support local brand ambassadors.
• Experience in retail, field support, or technical representation - ideally in the running or outdoor industry.
• Strong relationship-building skills and a proactive, hands-on attitude.
• High Willingness to travel and a valid driver's license (company car provided)
• Native speaker or fluent in German; English language skills are a plus.
