KG Organization EVP Global Functions Business Unit Strategic Procurement Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Mid-level Professional A Snapshot of Your Day The Commodity Manager (f/m/d) for Cooling Systems & Bearings will be responsible for developing and completing global procurement strategies for cast components for the compression business. This role requires managing supplier relationships, and advanced negotiation tactics to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely delivery of critical cast products. The Commodity Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, quality, operational procurement and cost value engineering among others —while leading efforts to identify, qualify, and manage a global network of casting suppliers. This position plays a key role in driving Siemens Energy’s commitment to operational excellence, cost savings, and continuous improvement in the Cooling Systems & Bearings commodity.How You’ll Make an Impact
4. Lead the development and implementation of global strategies for Cooling Systems & Bearings procurement, focusing on cost savings, improved lead times, and enhanced product quality
5. Drive the identification, qualification, and management of casting suppliers globally and work closely with suppliers to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase capacity and reliability
6. Develop and deploy cost models for Cooling Systems & Bearings, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting of financial performance in alignment with business targets
7. Analyze and manage risks associated with the casting supply chain, including capacity constraints, quality issues, and geopolitical risks. Develop contingency plans and ensure supplier diversification. Work with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Finance, to resolve technical and commercial challenges related to casting procurement
8. Stay informed of global market trends, including commodity price fluctuations, technological advancements in casting methods, and regulatory changes that impact the casting supply base
9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with suppliers to optimize quality, lead times, and cost efficiency for Cooling Systems & Bearings
What You Bring
10. University Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
11. Professional Experience in Strategic Procurement, Commodity Management, Strategy Consulting, Project Management, or Engineering
12. Strong track record in negotiating complex contracts and implementing global procurement strategies, with specific experience in managing suppliers of Cooling Systems & Bearings and/or related mechanical components.
13. Experience managing supplier relationships across multiple geographies, especially in emerging markets such as India, China, Latin America and Eastern Europe
14. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of time
15. Advanced Business English is mandatory, German is desired at professional working proficiency level
