Join us!The Director Software is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of teams managing the software products within the connectivity product line, including software management, architecture, development, and testing. As a vital member of the leadership team, the Director Software will guide the strategic direction of technology initiatives, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and mentor the software team to foster growth and development. Additionally, the Director serves as a key liaison, facilitating communication and collaboration between these teams and other departments across the organization. With a deep understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to juggle multiple projects, the Director Software will play a key role in driving the success of our products and enhancing our market position. Additionally, this individual ensures that all activities are conducted in a cost-effective manner, in compliance with company policies and within budgetary constraints.Main Tasks and Responsibilities:Lead the software management & architecture, development & test teams providing strategic direction to be aligned with the connectivity product line visionDevelop and establish timelines, resource allocation, and budget plans for software products.Oversee team resources, allocating based on project priorities and requirements.Cultivate and reinforce a strong engineering culture within the team.Exchange high level feature requirements with customersBe involved in daily connectivity engineering tasks and manage daily progress of staff on multiple projects related to software productsReview engineering documents (such as requirement, test report) and non-engineering documents (such as purchases, travel and training requests) for final approval / rejectionParticipate to quality audits related to software productsBe accountable for following and maintaining internal QM engineering standards on software developmentPrepare and review offers related to software sales for customerTake part in engineering strategic decisions of the companyCreate, maintain, and adhere to the team budgetConduct annual reviewsParticipate to the hiring processResponsible for the application of occupational health and safety laws as well as for the well-being of the teamBe a role model: facilitate discussion and conflict resolution, and enforce professional behavior, expectations, and group valuesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field10+ years of experience working in a related field7+ years of experience working in a management role3-5 years of experience establishing budgetsKnowledge of TCP/IP, Linux operating systems & tools is advantageousTesting experience, e.g. system testing, test automation is advantageousKnowledge of software development and testing practices (DO-178C) in an aviation environment is of advantageYou will have the opportunity to contribute to challenging tasks in the field of Aviation and Inflight Entertainment technologies.
