Head of Sales DACH (Energy Storage)
Taylor Hopkinson is actively seeking a Head of Sales for a globally leading manufacturer focused on utility scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the DACH region.
Job Description
The Head of Sales DACH will lead sales of Battery Storage Systems, Solarparks, and PV modules in the DACH utility market. The role involves handling strategic customers, finding ways to grow existing commercial relationships, and opening new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is a successful hands‑on salesperson experienced with complex commercial contracts in this sector and a proven track record in signing new businesses.
Key Responsibilities
* Full responsibility for the entire sales cycle of Battery Storage Systems, Solarparks, and PV modules in the DACH region.
* Develop and implement a go‑to‑market strategy for all market segments (Utility, Developer, EPC, and IPP).
* Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and growth potential.
* Build, maintain, and expand key customer relationships in the energy, industrial, and utility sectors.
* Develop partnerships with EPCs, project developers, utilities, and investors.
* Negotiate and close framework agreements and strategic partnerships.
* Establish and lead a task force (Sales Managers & Technical Manager).
* Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, and After‑Sales teams.
* Manage revenue and profit, prepare sales forecasts, budget planning, and reports to the General Manager.
* Present and communicate products and unique value propositions to senior executives of prospective customers.
* Conduct market and industry analysis, working cross‑functionally to formulate effective marketing strategies.
* Conduct regular visits and maintain strong business relationships with high‑value customers.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher.
* Proven experience leading, developing, and managing high‑performing sales teams.
* 10+ years of proven experience selling complex technical solutions, ideally in battery storage, solar park, module sales, renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or electrical engineering.
* Expertise in managing complex contractual negotiations involving multiple stakeholders.
* Skilled in value‑based selling and developing strategic account plans.
* Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and incentive programs for energy storage in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Poland.
* Strong network with EPCs, developers, utilities, and investors in the energy sector.
* Excellent negotiation and closing skills at C‑level.
* Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, operational mindset.
* Willingness to travel regularly within the DACH region.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in German and English.
