Financial Controller | Series C Robotics Scale-up | Munich
The Opportunity: A leading innovator in the AI-powered robotics sector is seeking an ambitious Group Financial Controller to serve as a critical leader within their Munich-based finance team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in scaling a world-class finance function that leverages physical AI and automation to "automate the ordinary".
The Role: The Group Financial Controller oversees all accounting operations and ensures rigorous compliance with both local and international regulations. This position is designed for a technical expert who is equally passionate about strategic process optimization and the adoption of AI-driven financial tools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Governance: The Controller manages all general ledger operations and ensures the accurate delivery of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
* Dual GAAP Reporting: The individual is responsible for publishing financial statements in strict compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS / US GAAP.
* Systems Leadership: Acting as a key stakeholder, the Controller drives the selection, implementation, and optimization of major ERP systems and revenue recognition tools.
* Automation & AI Integration: The role identifies opportunities to implement AI-driven solutions for rule-based tasks such as reconciliations and invoice processing.
* Team Development: The Controller mentors and develops a high-performing, tech-savvy accounting team while overseeing transactional processing including Payroll and AP/AR.
* Strategic Oversight: The role supports budgeting, forecasting, and the management of regional banking relationships.
The Candidate Profile:
* Education: A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
* Certification: Candidates must hold a CPA, CA, or an equivalent German certification (e.g., Wirtschaftsprüfer or Bilanzbuchhalter).
* Experience: A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting is required, including at least 3 years in a Controller-level capacity.
* Technical Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of HGB and IFRS is essential, alongside a proven track record of implementing major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle).
* Language: Professional fluency in both German and English is mandatory.
* Preferred Attributes: Experience within high-growth technology or manufacturing environments and a history of leveraging automation tools are highly desirable.

Package: Combined base salary and bonus, between €180,000 and €200,000
