Senior IT Engineer (Security Operations & Infrastructure) | Düsseldorf, Germany | Onsite We are currently looking for an experienced Senior IT Engineer to join a highly trusted security-focused environment in Düsseldorf, supporting critical infrastructure and security operations within a leading international technology organization. This is a hands-on role combining Security Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Vulnerability Management, Incident Response, and enterprise systems administration. The position is ideal for candidates who enjoy operational ownership, technical depth, and working in mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities • Operate and continuously improve SIEM environments • Manage vulnerability scanning, remediation tracking & patch management • Handle incident response activities and security investigations • Administer Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, Group Policies & Exchange • Support VMware vSphere environments and enterprise backup systems • Maintain and improve backup & disaster recovery processes • Automate operational tasks using PowerShell • Participate in ISMS / security compliance activities Tech Stack • Windows Server • Active Directory / Group Policies / WSUS • Exchange • VMware vSphere • Veeam Backup & Replication • SIEM solutions (Wazuh preferred) • Vulnerability Management Tools (Qualys / Tenable / OpenVAS) • Endpoint Security Platforms • PowerShell Requirements • 8 years of experience in IT Infrastructure / System Administration • Strong hands-on Security Operations experience • Practical SIEM administration & Vulnerability Management background • Experience with Incident Response & Security Operations workflows • Strong Windows infrastructure administration skills • Experience with VMware & enterprise backup environments • PowerShell scripting experience • German C1 & English C1 are mandatory Ideal Background Candidates coming from Security Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure, Defence, Telecommunications, Managed Services, or highly regulated environments will be highly considered.
