Job Description
We are on the lookout for a Legal Counsel, Employment Law (Individual Labor Law) to join the Employment Law & Employee Relations Team on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise HR Business Partners, People Operations, and leadership on all matters of individual employment law in Germany, including employment contracts, disciplinary processes, terminations, performance issues, compensation, and working time matters.
* Provide hands-on support in day-to-day legal issues affecting employees, managers, and the People team — with a strong focus on solutions, compliance, and consistency across cases.
* Draft and review employment-related documents, such as contracts, side letters, termination letters, settlement agreements, and templates.
* Support pre-litigation strategy and ongoing legal disputes involving individual employees (e.g., unfair dismissal claims), including coordination with external counsel where needed.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders including HR, Legal, Data Privacy, and Compliance to ensure legally compliant and scalable practices.
* Monitor legal developments in individual labor law and translate them into actionable insights for the People team and the business.
* Deliver internal training sessions and guidance materials on individual labor law topics to raise awareness and build knowledge across the company.
Qualifications
What you need to be successful
* Fully qualified lawyer in Germany (Zweites Staatsexamen), with a strong focus on German individual labor law.
* At least three years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in an international company or leading law firm.
* Deep knowledge of German employment law, especially in the areas of contract law, termination law, working time, and employer obligations; comfortable representing the company in labor court proceedings, often in collaboration with external counsel.
* Solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills — able to explain legal matters clearly and practically to non-legal stakeholders.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit — you're a team player who builds trust.
* Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
