Overview
Our key client is an internationally recognised end-to-end CRDMO with fully integrated development and manufacturing services, they have multiple sites across the globe including several in Europe. Our partner has supported hundreds of IND/NDA submissions worldwide and due to their incredible success are growing their commercial teams globally.
They are looking for Director Business development with experience in CMC/Small Molecule process development/pre-formulation development/ Drug Product to both manage existing accounts and drive new client growth across DACH.
The candidate must be based within the assigned territory.
* Develop and implement tailored strategies to grow business in the DACH region, including identifying new opportunities and enhancing engagement with existing accounts.
* Drive market share expansion by promoting integrated development and manufacturing services across key customers and prospects in the assigned territory.
* Build strong site-level relationships to increase penetration across client organizations and influence decision-making processes.
* Collaborate effectively with global and local cross-functional teams (project management, technical operations, marketing) to ensure customer satisfaction and alignment on regional priorities.
* Coordinate and support client meetings, site visits, and trade show participation within Europe and abroad as needed.
* Capture and communicate business development progress regularly, utilizing CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to ensure transparency and data-driven decision-making.
* Monitor competitive dynamics and market trends specific to the DACH region, providing intelligence that informs strategy and tactical adjustments.
Requirements
* 3+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or chemical development and/or manufacturing, with direct exposure to CRO, CMO, or CDMO environments.
* Proven ability and track record in business development, sales, or similar customer facing roles
* Knowledge of the drug development lifecycle, small molecule process development/pre-formulation/formulation/clinical supply.
* Working knowledge of the DACH life sciences landscape, including cultural, regulatory, and organizational considerations relevant to pharma and biotech clients.
* Fluency in German and English is essential (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus.
* Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, further education is a plus.
* Working knowledge of drug development (IND to NDA)
