Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue further academic qualifications outside of their work responsibilities.
We are searching for a researcher with a keen interest in micropaleontology and its applications in paleoecology and paleoceanography. The research associate will be part of a dynamic working group and will establish cooperation with other working groups. The successful candidate will study the diversity, species composition and morphology of benthic foraminifera from selected deep-sea sediment cores of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. The main target is to investigate the ecosystem collapse and recovery dynamics during and after stagnation phases in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. The successful candidate will also be involved in publishing and presenting research and project results.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field.
Experience in micropaleontology, preferably in the application of benthic foraminifera in paleoecology and paleoceanography. Knowledge of both German and English languages will be essential.
