We seek:
In the Faculty II: School of Education, Architecture and the Arts, Institute of Music, Musicology/Sound Studies, we are seeking a researcher to start on 01.04.2026 under the following conditions:
• 50% = 19,92 hours
• Pay grade 13 TV-L
• limited by 31.03.2029
Your tasks:
1. Participation in the academic programs of classroom teacher education in music (BA/MA) and social work (BA, cultural education module)
2. Contribution to coordinating and implementing activities and collaborations of the Musikwissenschaft/Sound Studies group (including transfer and networking activities between the university, schools and the society)
3. Supporting research and teaching, supervising and examining students, and contributing to administrative tasks
4. Conducting a self-directed PhD project
5. Teaching duties: two semester hours per week
Your profile:
6. Master's or equivalent degree in sound studies, music, musicology or a neighbouring discipline with a focus on sound studies or sonic cultures
7. Experiences in the field of sound and/or sensory studies; in particular, experiences in the use of artistic research, practice-based, ethnographic or anthropological perspectives are an advantage
8. An idea for a PhD project (please submit a max. 3 pages draft)
9. Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
10. Experiences in contributing cooperatively in transfer and networking projects
11. Willingness in participating to the (further) development of academic programs
12. An artistic profile is desirable
13. Very good knowledge of English
14. Knowledge of German is desirable
