Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Operations to join our leadership team. The Head of Operations will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, optimizing internal processes, and supporting the execution of business strategies under the direction of the Managing Director. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented leader who is passionate about advancing the life sciences industry through operational innovation and team development.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Excellence: Lead the optimization of daily operations, implementing best practices and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives established by company leadership.
* Process Implementation: Execute approved strategic initiatives and operational improvements, focusing on efficiency, quality, and service delivery enhancement.
* Team Leadership: Develop, mentor, and manage operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within established frameworks.
* Strategic Support: Provide recommendations, analysis, and operational insights to support Managing Director decisions and contribute to strategic planning processes.
* Business Development Support: Assist in business development initiatives and client presentations, leveraging operational expertise to enhance competitive positioning.
* Performance Management: Monitor and report on operational metrics, identifying improvement opportunities and presenting actionable recommendations to leadership.
* Client Relations Management: Maintain and develop client relationships within defined parameters and established escalation procedures.
* Regulatory Compliance Support: Ensure operational compliance with industry regulations and standards, supporting the Managing Director in maintaining quality and integrity requirements.
* Project Coordination: Oversee cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company objectives.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
* Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations management within the CRO or life sciences industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
* Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Implementation Focus: Demonstrated ability to translate strategic vision into operational reality, with strong project management and execution capabilities.
* Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide data-driven recommendations and insights.
* Client-Oriented: Experience in client relationship management with understanding of service delivery excellence.
* Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in clinical research.
* Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Managing Director and operates within the governance framework established by company leadership. All decisions requiring Managing Director authority will be appropriately escalated.
