ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and semantic models on Microsoft Fabric. You’ll extract, transform, and model data from enterprise systems (Dynamics, NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, Matomo, etc.) to support advanced analytics and Power BI reporting. Your role ensures data accuracy, reliability, and performance for organization-wide decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
7. Develop and maintain scalable data integration pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Synapse, OneLake).
8. Modernize and optimize ETL/ELT processes for cloud-native Fabric solutions.
9. Build semantic models in Power BI with DAX and Power Query, and manage medallion architecture in Fabric lakehouses.
10. Ensure data quality, security, and compliance (, GDPR, HIPAA) using Microsoft Purview.
11. Collaborate with BI developers, analysts, and business teams to align data models and support reporting needs.
12. Support migration of on-premises data systems to Microsoft Fabric/Azure cloud.
13. Monitor and optimize performance of data pipelines and Power BI datasets.
YOUR PROFILE
COMPETENCE MEETS CHARACTER
14. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or comparable professional experience (5–10 years)
15. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other relevant Azure data solutions
16. Strong experience with SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Scala for data processing
17. Solid understanding of database design and data modeling, especially in connection with cloud technologies and Microsoft Fabric
18. Familiarity with data integration patterns, data lake architectures, and cloud-based data processing
19. Experience using Power BI to visualize and interpret data, and to facilitate collaboration with business teams
20. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
21. Very good written and spoken English and German skills.
