About the Role
We are currently supporting a leading international utility in the search for a Senior Project Development Manager to join their expanding team in Berlin. With strong financial backing and a long-standing commitment to renewable energy, the company is well-positioned to deliver large-scale onshore wind projects across Germany and Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the energy transition by taking responsibility for the full lifecycle of wind development projects within a stable, well-resourced organisation.
The position offers a hybrid working model (3 days in the Berlin office, 2 days from home) and a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of onshore wind projects from early-stage through to construction readiness.
* Manage permitting processes, environmental assessments, grid connection applications, and technical feasibility studies.
* Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, legal, finance, and procurement to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
* Liaise with external stakeholders including local authorities, grid operators, consultants, and service providers.
* Provide regular reporting to senior management on development progress, risks, and strategic opportunities.
What Sets This Role Apart
No Land Acquisition Duties – This position does not involve land acquisition responsibilities. A dedicated internal team handles all land negotiations and agreements, allowing you to concentrate on the technical, regulatory, and commercial aspects of project development.
Stable, International Organisation – Backed by a well-capitalised global utility, the company offers long-term project stability, robust investment capabilities, and the ability to move quickly on high-potential opportunities.
Hybrid Flexibility – Benefit from a balanced work environment, with the opportunity to collaborate in-person 3 days per week while working remotely for 2 days.
Candidate Profile
* Minimum 5 years of experience in onshore wind project development within Germany.
* Strong knowledge of German permitting, environmental legislation, and grid connection procedures.
* Degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, environmental science, renewable energy).
* Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
* Strong organisational, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
What’s on Offer
* A very competitive salary aligned with your experience.
* Attractive benefits package including bonus structure, pension scheme, and professional development support.
* Opportunity to join a financially secure, purpose-driven company playing a major role in Europe’s renewable energy transition.
