Tutor Position – 3D Printing Workshops

Are you passionate about 3D printing and eager to share your knowledge with fellow students? The Daedalus Project is looking for assistance to set up and run hands-on 3D printing workshops during the upcoming winter semester.
About the Daedalus 3D Printing Workshops
At Daedalus, we offer interactive workshops where students can learn the ins and outs of 3D printing and gain an introduction to CAD design. We use around 15 Ender 3 printers to provide a hands-on learning experience. To support these sessions, we are currently looking to add a new tutor to our team.
Your Responsibilities
- Update and improve existing workshop materials
- Expand the workshop curriculum with new topics that interest you or reflect current trends
- Prepare and promote the workshops to attract students
- Co-lead the workshops (3 consecutive days, with sessions lasting 1.5 to 2 hours per day, and approximately 20 participants per session)
- Host follow-up print hours where workshop participants can use the printers for their personal projects
- Take care of the 3D Printers and troubleshoot any defects
Requirements
- Solid experience with 3D printing
- Familiarity with the 3D printing workflow, including slicer software and printer calibration
- Confidence in maintaining and troubleshooting 3D printers
- Intermediate knowledge of CAD (you can choose the CAD software you’re most comfortable teaching)
- A passion for teaching and helping others learn 3D printing
- Fluency in English
- Enrolled student at the TUM (or another German university)
