Two doctoral positions (0.5 E13) are available at TUM with starting date 01.04. respectively 01.10., in association with Professor G. Friesecke. Appointments are initially for one year, and are renewable for a further two years.

Main research themes in our group are analysis and algorithm design in electronic structure theory (especially tensor network methods) and optimal transport, and we intend to appoint one doctoral candidate in each area.
Successful applicants will hold or are about to complete a Masters in mathematics, and will have previous expertise in a relevant area.
