Business Development Scientist – Germany
(Multiple Locations: Central Germany, near the Dutch border, near the Swiss border)
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing biotech company that is expanding its Business Development team in Germany. We are seeking three motivated scientists with a strong preclinical pharmacology and/or immunology background, ideally with in vivo mouse model experience, who are eager to apply their expertise in a commercial career.
With cutting-edge platforms in immuno-oncology, PK/PD studies, animal models, and translational pharmacology, this role offers the chance to combine scientific depth with business acumen and grow within an ambitious global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a clear understanding of the company’s platforms across immunology, oncology, and preclinical pharmacology (including in vivo mouse models, T/B cell assays, PK/PD studies).
* Proactively identify and engage prospective biotech and pharma clients, understand their R&D needs, and present tailored solutions.
* Manage client discussions, from scientific introductions through to proposal negotiation and contract close.
* Represent the company at scientific conferences, trade shows, and networking events, with confidence in discussing immunology/oncology data and preclinical model capabilities.
* Collaborate closely with senior scientists and business leaders to translate complex experimental results into clear value propositions for customers.
Requirements
* PhD in immunology, oncology, pharmacology, or related bioscience.
* 1–3 years post-PhD experience (postdoc or industry R&D) with exposure to:
* In vivo mouse models / animal studies
* T/B/NK cell biology (CD markers, flow cytometry, immune assays)
* PK/PD or translational pharmacology studies
* Strong interest in combining scientific knowledge with business development.
* Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for engaging with scientists and decision-makers.
* Willingness to travel for conferences and customer meetings.
* No prior business development experience required, structured training and mentoring will be provided.
* Candidates on valid student or industry work visas can be considered.
