Your Role

With us, you have the opportunity to perfectly combine your studies with practical experience while actively contributing to exciting projects. This allows you to gain valuable skills, expand your network, and grow both professionally and personally.

In this role you will be part of a team called ZEISS Solutions Lab.

1. You will build customized automation solutions for ZEISS customers that need support for special electron microscopy applications

2. Typically, these solutions encompass a completely automated electron microscopy workflow from image acquisition to the image analysis

3. Applications usually come from quality labs in the manufacturing or electronics industry, although, use cases may arise from any business area

4. Together with our data scientists you will implement full HW automation and computer vision pipelines ranging from microscope control to the preprocessing of images to the detecting and segmenting of objects and the final statistical analysis.

5. You will have the possibility to improve your knowledge in many areas, such as the application of deep learning models and image processing algorithms, advanced software engineering topics and usage of ZEISS electron microscopes

Your Profile

6. Successfully completed at least 2 years of study in the STEM field

7. Taken classes in the fields of computer science, mathematics, physics or any other STEM subject with advanced programming skills

8. Strong proficiency with Python and the scientific ecosystem (e.g. numpy, sciki-image, pandas)

9. Deep curiosity and willingness to dive into new subject areas

10. Ability to work in an independent, goal- and output-oriented manner

11. Good communication skills in order to work with our customers

12. Fun working in agile, interdisciplinary teams

13. First experience with electron microscopes and/or machine learning are an advantage

14. Fluent English or German
