SUS Environment (full name Shanghai SUS Environment Co., Ltd.) is a global leading provider of comprehensive environmental services covering the whole industry chain. Its business revolves around the investment, construction, operation, and technological enhancement of waste-to-energy projects, covering investment, construction,n, and operation of Eco-industrial parks, complete supply of incineration equipment and key technologies, disposal of sludge, environmental remediation, comprehensive energy utilization, low-carbon solutions, etc. in both domestic and overseas.
Location: Germany or the Eastern European region (Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania). Or in Shanghai and accept medium - and long-term work arrangements in Europe.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify and evaluate opportunities in waste-to-energy (WtE), sludge treatment, and clean energy projects across Europe, covering greenfield investments, joint ventures, and M&A.
2. Lead feasibility studies, market research, investment analysis, deal structuring, and financing solutions; prepare investment proposals for decision-making.
3. Drive or support project acquisition processes, including due diligence, valuation modeling, deal negotiation, and transaction closure. Coordinate external advisors (financial, legal, technical) to ensure efficient execution.
4. Facilitate local government engagement, permitting processes, technical implementation, and operational team development during project execution.
5. Collaborate with headquarters (technical, commercial, financial departments) to develop proposals and manage partnerships with external consultants (technical/legal/tax/project management).
6. Lead negotiations for concession agreements, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and other critical contracts.
7. Independently prepare project documentation (e.g., initiation reports, financial models) and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
8. Monitor European regulatory changes in waste management, renewables, carbon markets, and subsidy mechanisms; assess business impacts.
9. Support the optimization of international project management frameworks and foster cross-regional collaboration and team capability building.
Requirements:
* 8+ years in renewable energy, environmental infrastructure, or energy/utilities project development.
* Preferred: Expertise in WtE, sludge treatment, or similar sectors.
* Proven track record in leading greenfield developments and M&A transactions; familiarity with European regulations, financing models, and execution pathways.
* Deep knowledge of PPP/BOT models; proficiency in financial modeling and ROI analysis.
* Strong project management skills to coordinate multi-stakeholder resources and ensure end-to-end delivery.
* Fluent English (written/spoken); preferred: Prior long-term work experience in Europe, proficiency in German, French, or Italian.
* Self-driven, results-oriented, adaptable to cross-cultural environments, and able to thrive under high-pressure travel schedules.
