We are seeking a skilled and experienced Radiation Plant Engineer to join our team at the Forschungs-Neutronenquelle Heinz Maier-Leibnitz (FRM II) in Garching bei München. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical operation, maintenance, and development of radiation plant equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field, with experience in project management, plant operation, and team leadership. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

* Technical operation, maintenance, and repair of radiation plant equipment, including ordering spare parts, coordinating repairs, and conducting routine checks.
">
* Development and implementation of new procedures for existing radiation plants, as well as the design and development of new systems and components in collaboration with other departments at FRM II.
">
* Creation of technical documentation.
">
* Preparation and coordination of inspections, maintenance, and repair work, including cooperation with experts, external companies, and other departments at FRM II.
">
* Planning, coordination, and execution of radiation orders for internal and external customers, including customer communication to meet their requirements.
">
* Leadership of a team of 5-7 radiation operators and organization of shift work when necessary.
">
* Participation in the maintenance and further development of quality management systems and ISO 9001 certification for radiation services at FRM II.
">
* You will be supported by experienced colleagues during your onboarding process.

Requirements:
">
* A degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field from a university or college of applied sciences.
">
* Experience in project management, plant operation, and team leadership is an advantage.
">
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
">
* Knowledge of CAD software and modern IT systems is assumed.
">
* A willingness to acquire additional knowledge and develop professionally is expected.
">
* Good communication skills are required.
">
* Very good German language skills are necessary, both written and spoken, as well as a willingness to take on administrative tasks such as creating reports and documentation.
">
* English language skills and knowledge of radiation protection are desirable but not mandatory.
