The Company:
Our company is the largest integrated logistics service provider in China and the fourth largest in the world, has consistently built on its service capabilities and has diversified into seven segments, namely time-definite express, economy express, freight, cold chain and pharmaceutical, intra-city on-demand delivery, supply chain and international business (including international express, international freight and freight forwarding, and supply chain), revolving around the establishment of a logistics ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Manage compliance for cross-border e-commerce and general trade import/export operations within Germany and the EU, ensuring efficient, lawful, and delay-free customs clearance.
2. Review product classification (HS CODE), valuation, and origin declarations (e.g., EUR.1, RCEP, CN-EU agreements) to ensure compliance and mitigate potential tax risks.
3. Handle daily communications and declarations with German customs (Zollamt) and customs authorities of other EU member states.
4. Be familiar with and operate systems related to German import VAT, customs duties, EORI registration numbers, and IOSS.
5. Provide logistics compliance support for cross-border e-commerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, TEMU, Shein), including FBA, overseas warehouse returns, VAT compliance, invoicing, and product labeling requirements.
6. Participate in or lead projects such as AEO certification, customs audits, and compliance assessments.
7. Maintain effective communication with freight forwarders, third-party customs agents, warehousing providers, and platform service providers to resolve issues in the import/export process.
8. Monitor the latest trade policies and customs regulations in the EU and Germany, and assess their impact on business operations in a timely manner.
9. Assist the tax and finance departments in verifying import/export invoices and archiving data to ensure compliant recordkeeping.
10. For Sino-German trade, support the Chinese team in understanding German and EU compliance procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
2. Over 3 years of experience in customs management within international trade or cross-border e-commerce; local work experience in Germany or the EU is preferred.
3. Familiarity with the German and EU customs systems (Union Customs Code), clearance procedures, and tax policies (e.g., IOSS, OSS, VAT filing).
4. Proficient in product classification (HS Code), customs documentation, and rules of origin.
5. Skilled in operating German/EU customs clearance systems and third-party platforms.
6. Fluent in both Chinese and English, with strong cross-cultural communication skills; proficiency in German is a plus.
7. Well-versed in cross-border e-commerce models (especially B2C, overseas warehousing, and platform policies).
8. Experience with AEO certification or building compliance systems is preferred.
9. Detail-oriented, highly responsible, and capable of solving problems independently.
