Head of Products and Equipment (m / w / d)

Contract : Permanent
Your role includes:
1. Leading the business line disciplinarily and professionally, ensuring the strategic development and expansion of the team.
2. Developing skills in project management for products and equipment, including automation and solutions in special machine development. This involves cross-departmental projects, including software development, e.g., in the context of “Industry 4.0” with an agile mindset.
3. Ensuring technical solutions meet all requirements (time, cost, quality) in conception, implementation, and integration.
4. Working closely with relevant stakeholders in projects and operations.
5. Ensuring adherence to applicable guidelines and processes.
6. Ensuring the availability of necessary skills and resources at the right time, and coordinating collaboration with external partners.
7. Taking responsibility for new and ongoing developments and resource sustainability of Products & Equipment, including automation solutions for measuring devices and machines, to achieve project and company goals.
8. Observing the market and further developing the product range in automation and robotics.
9. Initiating and monitoring R&D projects within the team across all field activities of Testia.
10. Securing external funding from customers and governmental agencies as appropriate.
11. Ensuring technology development aligns with the milestone and TRL rules of Testia.
12. Maintaining time, cost, and quality standards in R&D projects.
13. Contributing creatively within the management team and reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Your profile:
1. Successfully completed studies in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
2. Knowledge of automation, basic welding, and bus systems/interfaces is desirable.
3. Experience in NDT, automation, and PLC systems (Siemens / Simatic S7; B&R Automation Studio; Beckhoff / CoDeSys, WinCC, WinCC flexible).
4. Experience in assessing, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting automation solutions.
5. Proven project management experience in complex automation projects, using both classic and agile approaches, with distributed teams and development partners.
6. Experience in leading funded R&D projects.
7. Strong leadership skills demonstrated through team and project management.
8. Independent, structured working style with strong analytical skills and high reliability.
9. Advanced negotiation skills in English and German; additional languages like French and/or Spanish are a plus.
