Vacancy for: Faculty of Design, Product Design Main Responsibilities: Organization, operation, and further development of the model making workshop Professional guidance and consultation for students and faculty in design projects Instruction and training in manufacturing techniques (wood, plastics, digital fabrication technologies) Ensuring occupational safety, compliance with workshop regulations, and training of users Planning, procurement, and management of materials and operating resources Maintenance, servicing, and repair of machines, tools, and digital fabrication systems Coordination of workshop use and support in integrating it into teaching activities Responsibilities and Competencies: Management and oversight of workshop operations Responsibility for safety, order, and availability of equipment Supervisory authority over student assistants and workshop users within operations Decision-making authority regarding material procurement, usage quotas, and technical processes Requirements: Several years of practical experience in model making, prototyping, and workshop management Formal vocational training in woodworking and/or plastics processing Alternatively a University degree in design, architecture, engineering, or a comparable qualification In-depth knowledge of traditional manufacturing methods as well as modern CAD/CAM and rapid prototyping technologies Machine Operation Certificate T1 (certification for operating workshop machinery) Knowledge of occupational safety, accident prevention, and workshop organization Pedagogical and didactic skills in instructing students Strong communication and teamwork skills, organizational competence, and initiative Proficient in English We Offer: A modern, well-equipped workshop with advanced tools and digital fabrication technologies The opportunity to shape and develop the workshop in close collaboration with faculty and students An inspiring, international, and creative academic environment Opportunities for professional growth and further training Employment at a dynamic and growing university
