Department Head (m/f/d) Medical Technology - IT and Medical Technology Division THE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MAGDEBURG The University Medical Center Magdeburg is a public institution (A.ö.R.) and, together with the Medical Faculty of Otto von Guericke University, forms UNIVERSITÄTSMEDIZIN MAGDEBURG. With approximately 1,100 beds in 27 clinics and 28 institutes or associated departments, it is the largest healthcare facility in northern Saxony-Anhalt and, in addition to research and teaching, offers the entire spectrum of multi-professional and highly specialized university maximum care.
Lead the medical technology department at University Medicine Magdeburg into a secure, modern future. The position reports directly to the IT & Medical Technology Division Management. Permanent, full-time, hybrid working possible.
Your responsibilities:
* Leadership & organization: Managing employees, conducting employee and development reviews, establishing a transparent leadership culture.
* Compliance & Security: Ensuring compliant operational processes, documentation, inspections, functional checks, and maintenance.
* Strategic Development: Implementing the departmental strategy, analyzing technological developments, professionalizing processes and service management.
* Operational management: Planning commissioning, inspections, maintenance, coordinating service calls, collaborating with manufacturers and hospital departments.
* Investment & budget management: Participating in the planning, procurement, and introduction of equipment, budget responsibility, managing external service providers.

You will assume strategic, technical, and organizational responsibility for around 25 employees in clinical engineering, central medical technology, radiology, and branch offices. You will ensure that all operator obligations under MPDG and MPBetreibV are fulfilled, further develop processes and standards, and ensure an efficient, secure medical technology infrastructure.
What you bring to the table:
* Degree in medical technology, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or comparable qualification; alternatively, state-certified medical technician with management experience.
* Experience in managing complex medical technology in maximum care clinics.
* In-depth knowledge of MPDG, MPBetreibV, regulatory requirements, and lifecycle management of medical technology.
* Leadership skills, structured approach to work, strong communication skills, and service orientation.

Compensation: You can expect performance-based compensation depending on your assigned tasks and fulfillment of personal requirements, up to pay grade E 13 according to the in-house collective agreement of the University Medical Center Magdeburg A.ö.R.

Position: The position is to be filled on March 1, 2026, on a full-time (38.5 hours/week) and permanent basis.
