We are looking for a
Senior Firmware Engineer
with deep expertise in
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
to join our innovative wearables team in Munich. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing
low-power embedded firmware
that powers the next generation of connected devices for health, fitness, and lifestyle applications.
What You'll Do
* Design, implement, and maintain
embedded firmware
for wearable devices with a strong focus on
BLE communication
.
* Develop and optimize
low-power protocols
to maximize battery life and ensure robust wireless connectivity.
* Work closely with hardware, mobile app, and cloud teams to ensure seamless end-to-end integration.
* Debug and resolve complex issues at the firmware, protocol, and hardware interface levels.
* Implement
secure OTA (Over-the-Air) updates
and ensure compliance with Bluetooth SIG standards.
* Contribute to
system architecture, design reviews, and technical mentorship
of junior engineers.
What We're Looking For
* 5+ years
of professional experience in
embedded firmware development
.
* Strong expertise in
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 4.x/5.x)
including
GATT, GAP, and Bluetooth Mesh
.
* Proven experience with
BLE SoCs
(e.g., Nordic nRF52/nRF53, TI CC26xx/CC13xx, Espressif ESP32).
* Proficiency in
C/C++
for embedded systems; experience with
ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
.
* Hands-on with
RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX)
and low-level driver development.
* Familiarity with
firmware debugging tools
(JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
* Knowledge of
security best practices
in IoT: encryption, authentication, secure boot.
* Experience with
power optimization techniques
for battery-operated devices.
* Bonus: experience with
wearable sensors (IMUs, PPG, ECG, accelerometers)
or
health/fitness applications
